Microsoft urges partners to unify Dynamics GP 2013, Office 365 with pre-built dashboards
The Microsoft Dynamics GP product marketing team has released the first in a series of pre-built dashboards for Office 365 team sites, aimed at expanding the visibility of ERP data and helping partners tell a story of an integrated Microsoft solution built with Dynamics and Office 365.
They have started with a financial dashboard that product management director Errol Schoenfish describes as "a jumpstart to deliver information to non-ERP users in many cases."
Schoenfish wrote that it was so easy to deploy the new dashboard that it deserved its own hashtag: #IfErrolCanDoIt. More dashboards will be coming in areas including sales and purchasing, he tells MSDynamicsWorld.com.
The upcoming release of GP 2013 SP3, planned for the spring 2014, will include security and identity management enhancements for single sign on. Eliminating many of the duplicate logins when accessing different products will streamline the experience of moving between SharePoint and Dynamics GP. The currently available dashboard already allows for drilling back into GP from a SharePoint team site, Schoenfish clarified, but the experience will be improved once single sign on begins moving into place.
