Microsoft Power Platform Updates: UI Flows; Covid-19; Emergency Response; Mixed Reality

Microsoft's Power Platform team continued to roll out new services, some as part of their 2020 release wave 1 plans to fulfill, while others were focused on supporting companies shifting to remote work amid the ongoing coronavirus crisis.

Power Automate Updates

Microsoft program management director Stephen Siciliano reminded readers that UI flows for Power Automate reached GA as of April 2.

He noted that Boston-based non-profit Partners in Health is planning to use UI flows to process invoices and checks, while Italian bank illimity is using it for broad-spectrum document processing.

Additionally, the Power Platform team announced a variety of gateway management features for the Admin Center, file attachments for approval flows,  or approval workflows for adding sites to SharePoint hubs.

Power Apps Updates

In response to Covid-19, the Power Apps team deployed its Emergency Response solution for healthcare providers, beginning with Providence St. Joseph Health in Seattle and its Swedish affiliate. The solution helps to lots equipment, supplies and key statistics and provides a decision support dashboard for emergency managers. At the same time, the team is rolling out Mixed Reality for Power Apps, geared toward manufacturing and field service scenarios.
