Last week, in the lead up to the 2020 Inspire virtual conference, Microsoft named its Partner of the Year award winners across categories like business applications and cloud. The award winners and finalists are chosen from more than 3,300 nominations.

Big data management and AI provider Informatica received the award for data analytics, based on their success with a US-based company that migrated its data warehouse and data processing to Azure Synapse Analytics.

MSDW spoke with Rik Tamm-Daniels, VP of Strategic Ecosystems and Technology at Informatica, about the significance of the award.

"Today we count thousands of joint customers with Microsoft," he said. "The award we just received is a good recognition of how rapidly we scaled together and achieve those outcomes."
