Microsoft will add B2B e-commerce capabilities for Dynamics 365 Commerce, the company's primary business application for retailers. And the company announced the launch of its Microsoft Cloud for Retail, a set of capabilities spanning the company's business and productivity applications, cloud services, and Microsoft Advertising.

The announcements come as the company ramps up its presence at the NRF 2021 BIG Show virtual event, an online version of what has long been a key expo for retail industry tech vendors.

Consolidating retail industry offerings: Cloud for Retail

Microsoft Cloud for Retail will be an "industry-specific cloud," according to the company, that aims to give retailers the ability to call on many of Microsoft's products and services.
