Microsoft expands Azure Quantum with Rigetti technology

Rigetti Computing, a California-based full-stack quantum computing company announced a new partnership with Microsoft that will see its quantum computers provided to Azure Quantum users.  

The integration is expected to be complete around the first quarter of 2022.

Azure developers will be able to code with common frameworks, including QIR, the Microsoft quantum intermediate representation. Both Rigetti and Microsoft are part of the QIR Alliance, an involvement intended to improve interoperability between quantum technology and more traditional computing.
