Microsoft Dynamics Profile: Making customers happy is the goal of this four-time MVP

Deepesh SomaniFor many people, developing a severe illness might curtail their career goals. But four-time Microsoft Dynamics MVP Deepesh Somani credits the disruption caused by sudden health problems with helping him connect with IT startup Dynamisity in his home country of India.

"The last few years have been particularly challenging for me both professionally and personally," he says. "I was doing a great job working in Ireland for [Storm Technology] a leading Microsoft partner and country partner of the year in Ireland in 2016. I was working as a solution architect and I was able to do lot of good projects."

But then Somani became ill, which affected his work. So in December 2016, he decided to return to India to seek treatment. At the time he was writing his first book on Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Mastering Dynamics CRM 2016.

Getting in on the ground floor

"It became my longest and most challenging project - to just write and complete it," he says. "I was even on bed rest for a few months at the beginning of 2017, only authoring the book whenever I could. At this juncture, [the founders of] Dynamisity gave me the support to continue to work while taking care of my health."

Somani signed on as an architect, working on Dynamics 365, Azure, and Power BI projects for international customers as well as those based in India. Gradually he worked his way up to a leadership position in ...
