Microsoft Dynamics NAV-based Airline Maintenance App to Focus on Maintenance Operations
NAVair, an end-to-end aviation maintenance management program built on the Microsoft Dynamics NAV platform, will debut April 21 at the MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Operations) trade show in Phoenix.
Cambridge Online, a British-based Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, created the NAVair application to streamline airline maintenance operations and, in turn, cut industry costs and boost revenues.
Developed by Cambridge Online's team of aviation experts, NAVair is targeted to airline operators, third-party maintenance companies and other aviation engineering organizations.
Key to NAVair's workflow optimization is a central data repository that combines standard NAV enterprise data like finance, sales, inventory management and purchasing with industry-specific functions like technical records, component control, engineering and production control all in one location. Engineering, for example, includes specialized records such as engineering change orders, schedules and revision histories while Technical Records includes data like flight logs, component tracking and reliability analysis.
According to Ray Olds, Cambridge Online's business development director, NAVair provides the broadest scope of any single software product in the aviation industry while offering the flexibility and investment protection of the Microsoft platform.
"We think NAVair is going to be a winner and will change the way MRO organizations view the use of IT in their business," he said.
