Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 Adds Belgium, Finland Support, Delays Other Group 2 Countries

Microsoft offered a bit of a surprise to the Dynamics NAV communities in Belgium and Finland when it released their NAV 2013 localizations ahead of schedule in February.  These countries and others in Group 2 had been targeted for an April release date.

But the other countries awaiting localization will have to wait until the end of 2013, according to a blog post from Claus Søager Helth of Partner Power International.

He writes that, "What has been announced is that 'Country localizations for the Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Poland, Portugal and Russia are now being re-planned ... currently scheduled for the end of calendar year 2013'."

Helth says he has researched the delay with Microsoft and got this explanation:

"I have learned that the changes have been made to ensure high quality of the country releases. Energy was put into getting some countries out early, which had an impact on others. Also, the change allows Microsoft to achieve some synergies in getting the best possible version out on NAV 2013 and at the same time prepare for coming releases for these countries."

The initial release of NAV 2013 in September 2012 included support for its Group 1 country list.  The updated list, including the two new countries is:

  • AU-Australia
  • BE-Belgium
  • CA-Canada
  • DK-Denmark
  • FI-Finland
  • FR-France
  • DE-Germany
  • IN-India
  • IT-Italy
  • MX-Mexico
  • NL-Netherlands
  • NZ-New Zealand
  • ES-Spain
  • SE-Sweden
  • UK-United Kingdom
  • US-United ...
