Microsoft Dynamics GP Team Offers New Tips for Selling Against NetSuite

Microsoft may only claim to see NetSuite in a "small percentage" of its competitive Dynamics GP deals, as product manager Jay Manley writes in a new blog post, but he wants GP partners to arm themselves with the latest competitive responses to the charges that NetSuite may throw down, which he has posted to PartnerSource

Microsoft's high level counter to NetSuite's positioning on cloud credibility goes back to Microsoft's "power of choice" messaging.  Manley writes, "We must help customers move past the hype and engage them in meaningful conversations about the value of on-premise vs. hosted vs. cloud offerings, and which one is right for them."

The other main argument that Microsoft is hearing about, reportedly, is that GP is not available anywhere other than on-premise and "does not offer customers a single, integrated solution to help them manage their business." Clearly no one has filled in NetSuite on the new "total business solution" positioning that launched around Convergence 2012. 

NetSuite competition is nothing new to Dynamics GP resellers, and the amount of effort that goes into countering their claims in competitive situations would seem to counter the idea that it is a "small percentage" of deals in which NetSuite shows up -it is easy to find many such blog posts to get the Dynamics GP VAR perspective on the topic.  Some of the ...
