Year-end update 2019: fixed assets

Andrea Melroe offered some information on the Dynamics GP Support and Services Blog to help users ensure a smooth and seamless year-end in fixed assets.

Melroe explained that there's no new functionality that affects the fixed assets year-end closing that users have to be aware of this year. Melroe recommended that after users close payables management, but before they close the general ledger year, they should close all books in fixed assets.

Melroe also noted what the year end close process did and what it affected and offered information on the steps users should take to close the year in fix assets. In addition, Melroe wrote:

DO NOT manually edit the year in the Book Setup window so you can run depreciation for the next year, and then 'flip it back' and proceed to close the current year.

Doing this could have disastrous results.
