On the Dynamics GP Support and Services Blog, Cheryl Waswick stated partners are looking for more information about the VAT 100 return as they get ready to comply with the new digital requirements for filing VAT taxes digitally that go into effect this spring.

In her post, Waswick answers some of the questions partners have been asking, including what exactly VAT reports are, how to enable the VAT 100 return, what you have to do to use the VAT return, and what reports are available for you to print.

GP easy security fixes: Bank transactions and reconciliation

On his DynamicAccounting.net blog, Mark Polino is writing a series of posts on easy fixes to boost the security of Dynamics GP. In this post, he focuses on bank transactions and reconciliations.

According to Polino, when it comes to controls, every company uses bank reconciliation because it's one of the few regular, independent checks of what goes on in a company.

I've seen senior accountants get fired for poor bank reconciliation management and I've seen awful bank reconciliations as a symptom of deeper problems in a company that ultimately failed spectacularly.
