Custom links – change which app is used when making a phone call

On his GP Life Hacks blog, Shawn Dorward explained how to switch from Skype for Business to Microsoft Teams.

When Skype for Business is installed, it becomes the default application for invoking phone calls, he stated. However, with the increasing development of Teams, and the fact that more businesses want to change from Skype for Business to Teams many companies have to figure out how to use Teams for phone calls instead of Skype.

Dorward said it's not that difficult because it's a change on your computer. Dorward offers screenshots to help you make the change.

When you're done, if you click a custom link associated to a phone number within Dynamics GP, Teams will be invoked instead of Skype for Business:

Troubleshooting drillbacks In Dynamics GP

On the Dynamics GP Support and Services blog, JeffZe stated that there has been an increase in cases where the drilldown functionality in Dynamics GP has stopped working. As a result, the team put together a guide to help customers troubleshoot issues before opening a support case.

JeffZe stated that the most common error the team has received regarding drillbacks is:

A connection to Microsoft Dynamics GP could not be established. Be sure you are logged on to the appropriate Company and try again.

You can find out how to fix the error here.
