Dynamics AX 2012 : Dangerous way to copy or reverse a journal

On his About Microsoft Dynamics AX the Hard Way blog, Hichem Chekebkeb wrote that recently he was doing some research on how to copy the entire journal voucher to a new one and he found this post called Quick Way to Copy or Reverse a Journal. After reading the post, Chekebkeb tried the feature General Journal > Lines > Function > Load ledger transactions.

However, he discovered that the feature had a major issue that he felt was dangerous because the feature copies vouchers from the general journal entry and the general journal account entry tables, which means that it copies the vouchers at the ledger level only:

If you copy a voucher [that] uses sub-ledger bank account as an offset account, the feature will copy the main account of the bank account instead of using the original sub-ledger one. If any main account [is] left with "Do not allow manual entry" unchecked it will post silently and cause discrepancies between the ledger and subledger.

You can find out why that is dangerous
