Time matters: understanding ValidTimeState tables in D365 F&O
Writing on her blog, Anitha Eswaran stated that in Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations some business data changes over time, but companies still need to keep a record of what that data looked like in the past.
She noted that ValidTimeState tables make it possible to track those changes while preserving historical information.
Eswaran wrote that companies can use ValidTimeState tables to track worker assignments, resource group memberships, organizational structures, positions, and pricing.
She explained that the tables keep a history of changes while allowing the system to find the information that was valid on a specific date or during a certain period.
Eswaran then provided information about how to use ValidTimeState tables in D365 F&O.
