Depending DevOps pipelines on customer’s current version
Writing on his blog, Waldo stated that some DevOps pipelines (or GitHub workflows) shouldn’t rely on the "latest," "NextMinor," or "NextMajor" version of Dynamics 365 Business Central.
Instead, he wrote that they should be set to work with the specific version that the customer is currently using.
For example, Wauters noted that you should consider a DevOps pipeline that updates AppSource apps in the customer's environment. He stated that in this case, you might want to test the a specific combination of elements.
“This combination needs to be tested (in our case, by running automated tests). If the tests are successful, we can move to the next stage and update the apps,” he wrote.
Wauters then explained how to get and use the customer’s D365BC version in your pipeline.
The new subscription billing module is installed by default upgrading to Business Central 2024 wave 2
Writing on his blog, Ian Grieve stated that in D365BC 2024 wave 2, Microsoft added a new subscription billing module to help manage subscription contracts and recurring revenue.
