How to record events in Business Central

On his NAV Seen by Amol blog, Amol Salvi stated that he is aware that people have started working with AL development and extensions.

He stated that every time you convert your product or customization you have to deal with the base application code the same way you did during the C/AL days.

Now when you are dealing with extension you need to move your customization to AL development using events subscription. It is always painful to find events associate with every business process and need to search right event to write customization did.

In business central there is feature available to see which events are executed during process you ran and one can record this events using event recorder .These events are not stored like permission set .This will disappear once you close the page.

You can read more about how to store events in Business Central here.

Using memo BLOB to enable huge text

On his blog, Jeremy Vyska blog looked at the dangers of enabling huge text fields. A reason code, however, is an example of adding useful, structured data to the system.

If you do have to write up a large block of text, you can now do it natively now using the built-in RTC tools.
