Microsoft Ditches NAV 5.1 Scheduled for Early Next Year, Promises Instead More Advanced NAV 6.0 for Second Half 2008
How do you best break the news to software customers that an expected upgrade won’t be introduced when expected?
You essentially say, “We’ve got some bad news for you, but the good news is so great we’re hoping you forget the bad news pretty quickly.”
That’s what Microsoft has done in announcing that it’s given up on introducing Dynamics NAV 5.1 in early 2008. Instead, it will introduce its next version of the product as Dynamics NAV 6.0 during the second half of next year.
“Nobody ever wants to miss a commitment that they make, and with the move of our delivery date from H1 to H2 of 2008, that is the situation we as a Dynamics NAV R&D team find ourselves in right now,” reports Darren Laybourn, General Manager.
