At the recent OpenAI DevDay Conference on November 6, 2023, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella told attendees, “our job number one is to build the best systems, so you can build the best models and deliver those to developers.”

The two companies are expanding their existing partnership, offering GPT-4 Turbo on Azure OpenAI Service, along with new models such as DALL-E 3, Whisper 3, and GPT-3.5 Turbo. GPT-4 Turbo in particular offers lower pricing, enhanced prompt length, and structured JSON formatting.

During the conference, Microsoft made GitHub Enterprise available to DevDay conference in-person attendees, free to use for 90 days. Token pricing is being added to Azure OpenAI Service to make models equivalently priced between both Azure and OpenAI.

“I think we have the best partnership in tech,” stated Sam Altman, OpenAI’s CEO.
