Microsoft will add enterprise asset management (EAM) IP from ISV partner Dynaway to Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations (D365FO). The company "will be making it available natively" in D365FO, writes GM Muhammad Alam.

Microsoft has acquired the rights to the solution rather than purchasing the company or the IP.

Dynaway's EAM solution adds a range of capabilities that Alam outlines, including asset tracking, preventive and predictive maintenance, spare parts tracking, and analytics, among others. Alam states that the move will be used as a springboard for more AI-focused updates in the EAM space:

With this IP acquisition, our plan is to launch an AI-enhanced, transformative EAM solution by bringing together the best of what Microsoft provides in Dynamics 365, Power Apps, Power BI, IoT, MR applications, and Machine Learning. This EAM solution complements our existing Dynamics 365 for Field Service application that provides a modern, connected solution for organizations that manage assets in customer locations.

The EAM pickup is at least the sixth of the year for D365FO.
