MBS president Kirill Tatarinov sees future of Microsoft Dynamics in more large enterprises

One of the things on Kirill Tatarinov's radar when he became president of Microsoft Business Solutions some six years ago was figuring out how to turn Microsoft Dynamics into a "profit engine" for the company.

"I saw an opportunity for Microsoft to gain prominence in the enterprise side with a complete solution through business applications," Tatarinov told R "Ray" Wang, Principal Analyst and CEO at Constellation Research Inc., during a wide-ranging interview at Convergence.

After spending 20 years working with CIOs building out enterprise infrastructure, Tatarinov told Wang that MBS and Dynamics represented the next step of the journey from infrastructure to business solution.

"Our challenge was to answer how Microsoft could become a true, trusted provider of business solutions," he said. "On the product side, our goal was to give our customers a solid product vision that they could count on. We made sure every product moved forward and delivered a consistent road map. We listened deeply to our customers as they lead the way in the future of enterprise."

Tatarinov said he accomplished that goal as the software giant now has more than 350,000 customers from small and medium-size businesses to the Global 2000.

Additionally, the company now has over 10,000 partners meeting the goal of become the largest partner network in the business, he said.

"Going forward, we want to play our part in helping Microsoft continue to be the trusted partner in the enterprise," Tatarinov said. "With One Microsoft Cloud, we're delivering Windows Azure for infrastructure and platform as a service, with Office 365 delivering Productivity Suite."

He said Microsoft Dynamics will also deliver very specific business scenarios from the cloud.
