Lexmark Updates Invoice Capture Service for Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2016

Lexmark has announced version 1.1 of its Invoice Capture Service (ICS) SaaS solution for Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2016. The update adds line item extraction, new verification capabilities, and other improved workflow and extraction capabilities.

Microsoft made Lexmark's ICS part of its launch of Dynamics NAV 2016 last October. ICS uses a freemium model for NAV 2016, with the free level giving customers up to 75 invoices per month without charge. The company offers subscription or pay-per-use pricing above the free level.

Line item extraction, which is only available for the paid tiers of the service, gives customers the ability to "create extensive PO-matching functionality" even for complex multi-page invoices as part of a Dynamics NAV rollout, according to Lexmark in a statement. The free level captures invoice header and footer information like invoice number and totals, giving new users a chance to get a feel for the systems' capabilities without the more advanced capabilities.

ICS 1.1 also offers a re-designed HTML5 interface. The company reports that the verification interface can be activated for needed invoice review based on exceptions or turned off for seamless pass through.

Uptake of ICS has been strong among NAV customers according to Bob Monio, global alliances director and sales lead for Lexmark ICS. The company is seeing "tens" of customers added weekly and volume of usage increasing at a 10x rate.

Lexmark is also ramping up its efforts to get more NAV partners selling and deploying ICS. The company has new sales tools and supporting components built by Lexmark and Microsoft. And Lexmark has announced a new referral incentive allows partners to receive a monetary benefit based on a customer's subscription-based usage for one year.
