Ignite 2021: More enterprise-ready features, more automation coming to Power Platform

Microsoft announced a range of new security and administrative controls for the Power Platform this week as part of this week's Ignite 2021 virtual event. And looking to the rest of 2021, the company is advising the community that priorities will continue to focus on enterprise requirements, AI, and the work of multi-disciplinary teams that blend developers, data professionals, and other workers.

Microsoft is "making it easy to be secure, compliant, and governable to empower democratization without compromising security," Microsoft corporate vice president Charles Lamanna told the Ignite audience today. He noted a range of upcoming capabilities that large enterprises and government organizations have identified as must-haves in their broader adoption of the Power Platform for building apps, automating processes with connectors, building reports and dashboards, and deploying tools within a Teams environment.

Microsoft claims that 86 percent of the Fortune 500 already uses Power Apps and that 97% use some element of the Power Platform.
