How we use Power BI to run our technology business

by Kuldeep Gupta

Reports in any organization are essential to illuminate the state of business operations. Whether it's hiring, cash outflow, cash inflow or anything else, understanding processes and performance within your organization are a must. Without up to the minute data, we are essentially navigating blind. Power BI provides powerful insights about the data visually. Its features like drill down help us play with the report unlike traditional SSRS reports which are usually static.

At CloudFronts we use five different report types regularly, branching out to others for more specialized functions. Let's take a look at how and where each report helps us with decision making.

Allocation Reports

This report provides us with important information about our allocation of resources for projects. It helps to show how resources are booked on different projects, including the allocation of hours by day.
