The Future of Microsoft Dynamics ERP in the Cloud a Key Topic at Decisions Fall 2011
Decisions Fall 2011, MSDynamicsWorld.com's free virtual conference, is only three weeks away, and one session sure to generate a lot of buzz is Microsoft Dynamics ERP Cloud Strategy, which will be delivered by Mike Ehrenberg, Microsoft Technical Fellow on December 5, 6, and 7.
While we've heard recently from individual product managers about the latest releases and roadmap plans for Dynamics AX, GP, and NAV, Ehrenberg should offer more insight into the Dynamics teams' investments around Windows Azure - and the ability of the Azure platform to adapt to support the challenging enterprise software goals that ERP customers demand and often struggle to meet even today.
At the AXUG Summit last week while talking about SQL Server in relation to the Dynamics AX roadmap, AX director of product management Kees Hertogh noted that the AX team is the SQL Server team's "internal ISV," setting expectations for capabilities and performance required for future releases of AX. And in planning the direction of cloud ERP at Microsoft, Ehrenberg may be the person tasked with making the Dynamics ERP products into something of an internal ISV for the Azure platform.
