Extend Booking: An alternate to resource booking in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Project Service Automation V3

I first came across the Extend Bookings functionality when I was trying to allocate some hours to the resources on a project in Dynamics 365 Project Service Automation V3. It offers a highly effective way to do allocations in just a few clicks. This is only feasible when the Schedule is filled with specific resources and not just generic resources.

In this article I will describe how to use the Extend Booking Functionality.

As a project manager, I prefer to create the project after the contract is created and confirmed. In PSA I navigate to Projects-->Open the project-->Schedule tab.

Once this is done, we move to the Team tab to see that the resources selected are already added as the Team Member. You can change the role of the resource from there.
