enVista launches enHanced Integration Framework for Microsoft Dynamics 365 (AX7)

Supply chain consulting and IT services firm enVista has released the latest version of its enHanced Integration Framework (EIF) for Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Operations (formerly known as AX 7). The solution aims to reduce the time required to build integrations with AX7 and minimize typical challenges around messaging related to standard AX processes.

EIF was designed to simplify the effort to integrate Dynamics 365 for Operations (AX7) with companies' existing software solutions. According to enVista's Brian Manchester, senior director of enterprise development, EIF acts as a framework that can enable the development of integrations for EDI, WMS, TMS, 3PL, and e-commerce solutions.

"We are pleased to offer a working integration framework for Microsoft Dynamics AX7 that significantly shortens deployment timeframes and mitigates integration issues," said enVista Senior Director and AX Applications Architect Don Riggs. "When we started down the prescribed integration path for AX7 there was no clear course for messaging integration within the AX7 offering, especially advanced messaging integration. To solve and standardize integration issues, we developed an entirely new messaging architecture that meets the demands of AX7's new environment and enables companies to rapidly implement and integrate Dynamics AX7 with their existing solutions."

Don Riggs has been outspoken on the topic of integration technology for AX7 in recent months, writing one of the most popular articles of 2016 for MSDynamicsWorld. He argued that the out of the box AX7 tools - DIXF and web services - are not sufficient to meet the messaging needs of AX customers. The article sparked debate, including both support and some criticism among AX architects.
