The end is near for Dynamics 365 Project Service Automation, Microsoft reminds commercial customers

Microsoft’s support for Dynamics 365 Project Service Automation has an end date for commercial cloud customers: March 31, 2025. After that point, customers will get no more updates or bug fixes, and support tickets “will be closed with instructions to upgrade to Dynamics 365 Project Operations,” according to Microsoft principal group program manager Rupa Mantravadi in a new blog post

The upcoming deadline hopefully comes as no surprise to remaining customer. Microsoft announced the end of support for PSA on commercial cloud in March 2024, along with the clarification that PSA 3.x was on the path to being deprecated and that the team had completed the final phase of their upgrade experience from PSA to the newer and actively developed Dynamics 365 Project Operations. 

For PSA customers on US government cloud, Microsoft “will have a future announcement regarding upgrade and the availability of Project Operations,” Mantravadi wrote.

PSA has been undergoing changes and revisions as an offering for at least the last five years, with features and investments shifting to Project Operations. 

Microsoft first revealed D365 Project Operations (PO) in February 2020, with a preview that launched in June 2020 While it has lived alongside PSA since then, Microsoft envisioned PO as the solution to their over-abundance of project-related software SKUs at the time
