Dynamics Profile: The entrepreneurial spirit and community achievements of CRM MVP Baris Kanlica

Baris KanlicaSince 2005, six-time MVP Baris Kanlica has done consulting, software development, project management, and worked as a software architect for all versions of Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

Kanlica is a founding partner of Omerd Business Solutions, a consultancy established in Istanbul, Turkey in 2008 to take advantage of the opportunity in the area of customer relationship management (CRM) in that country. He is also the CEO of UK-based consultancy Mawens Business Solutions, which is a branch Omerd.

"My friend is the managing partner at the moment of that company, which now has more than 25 developers" he says. "I am in London, and this company is the European side of Omerd. I have my own customers and with those customers sometimes I am software developer, sometimes solutions architect and sometimes I take a business administration role."

Kanlica's journey to London started over ten years ago when Dynamics CRM was first released in Europe. At the time he was employed by a company in Turkey.

"It was around 2005 or 2006 and it was a very interesting time in Turkey," he says. "The call centers were growing and I was working as a software developer for a call center company and they were doing telephone integrated systems. Then I realized that the customer relationship management area was going to be a good business opportunity in the future."

He then began to look for jobs with companies that were working in the CRM area and came across an opening with a company that was looking for a .NET developer to develop applications related to Dynamics CRM. ...
