Moving Analytical Accounting Data to History in Dynamics GP: In his first post at the Dynamics GP Support and Services blog, Sivakumar Venkataraman, writes about the causes - and preventative measures - related to an error message that pops up when you're running the year end close in Microsoft Dynamics GP (with Analytical Accounting (AA) activated and transaction dimensions included in the year end close). Venkataraman's post is applicable for users of Dynamics GP 10 SP2 and later.

The error message: "You must consolidate transactions and transfer detail to history utility for the closed year."

The scenario is that you've have activated AA in the fiscal year 2012 and the client has completed the GL Year End for 2011. In this case, the detail of GL transaction would have been moved into the historical tables for 2011, but the AA records would not be in the historical tables.
