Windows Communication Foundation and SOA in Dynamics AX: Brandon George recently interviewed Microsoft's Lachlan Cash, who shared Microsoft's vision for the role of SOA in the current and future versions of Dynamics AX. Brandon's takeaway: "You will see that the underlying goal and drive is that SOA, or Service-oriented architecture, will be the design principle for inside and outside development of Dynamics AX. This will be delivered by WCF or Windows Communication Foundation, and can have Windows Workflow Framework be used as well as part of the business process design flows that this stragey enables."

Surprise! Blogger Recounts Unexpected Bugs in AX 2009 Migration: Sven Jochimsen of the Axapta and MS Reflections blog recently migrated to Dynamics AX 2009, and runs down the surprising bugs he encountered: "I have just completed a process whereby we have migrated our current core application to Ax 2009, it was less of a positive experience than I had hoped... During the upgrade touching the few objects that we had changed in our developments in Ax I noted some pretty silly little details and I also noted that one of my favourite performance bugbears which ostensibly had been fixed had not really been adressed."
