Convergence EMEA revived for November 2013 in Barcelona

Convergence EMEA is making a comeback in November 2013 in Barcelona.

Several well-connected sources have confirmed the event (only one publicly) based on information from Microsoft employees, though Microsoft has not yet made any public statement on it.  Microsoft is expecting 1,000 to 2,000 customers, partners, and prospects at the event.  Communication from Microsoft should begin later in July, with a web site in August and registration in early September.

The Convergence web site is still running this banner:

Microsoft Dynamics Convergence 2014

The European-based sister conference to the North American Convergence conference first began disappearing in 2009, as Microsoft opted instead for a multi-city road show. It was then shut down altogether in favor of a "worldwide" Convergence event in North America by 2010.

Without a public statement yet, it's impossible to know exactly what this event will look like.  One question that will play itself out: is there still room for another in-person autumn Dynamics conference?  Other more specialized conferences, all with some sort of Microsoft support - either through sponsorship, sending speakers, or both - have sprung up in the last two years to cover many types of Dynamics interest groups in both North America and Europe, quickly filling up the second half of the year's calendar.

Here's a list of Dynamics-related events this fall, including the apparent dates of Convergence EMEA.
