Azure Updates: Magic Quadrant; GitHub Universe; Intelligent apps

Microsoft Vice President for Azure Infrastructure Marketing Omar Khan shared that Microsoft was named as a Leader in the 2024 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Strategic Cloud Platform Services. Microsoft appeared in the leader category neck-in-neck with AWS and Google, and ahead of Oracle. 

“Being ready to transform with AI means that businesses need to have a clear strategic vision, invest in data infrastructure, foster cross-functional collaboration, upskill their workforce, and integrate advanced technologies into their core operations to drive efficiency,” he wrote. 

Microsoft CVP Jessica Hawk explored new Azure tools announced at GitHub Universe. Microsoft is increasingly trying to provide seamless integration between Visual Studio Code, GitHub and Azure, leveraging GitHub as an end-to-end AI-enabled developer platform.
