Azure Updates: Claude Fable; Foundry; Storage
The team in charge of Microsoft Foundry announced the availability of Claude Fable 5. Unfortunately, for Microsoft customers, the advanced frontier model is no longer available. In the short time since the announcement, the US government issued an export control for the product citing potential national security concerns, such as the ability to bypass and “jailbreak” the model. The team assured customers that other Anthropic models remain available through Microsoft products.
Naomi Moneypenny shared insights on how developers can manage cost and quality with Microsoft Foundry. Fireworks AI on Foundry is generally available, giving developers new ways to use production-grade open model inference with a single Azure endpoint, implementing enterprise SLAs and zero-setup onboarding. According to Moneypenny, Foundry is adding new model families.
