American Express grows partnership with Microsoft

American Express announced the expansion of its existing partnership with Microsoft. Using Azure AI and machine learning capabilities, it plans to boost its expense management process by improving audit efficacy, automating expense reporting, and streamlining reconciliation. Over time, the capabilities will become available to American Express Corporate clients.

Going forward, when a business traveler swipes their corporate card, they will be prompted to upload a picture of the receipt for an AI decision engine to assign a risk score, color coding risk scores for different levels of review.

“Expense reports are a necessity, but we all hate doing them. At the same time, every company has an increased need for control and compliance with expenses. Now imagine a future where the majority of your expenses are simply ‘auto-submitted’ and ‘auto-approved,’ requiring no manual intervention and adhering to your companies’ policies and spend limits. By combining our customer insights and data, purposeful technology innovation, and a collaboration with an industry leader like Microsoft, we are creating a solution that addresses these needs with a seamless experience for the employee,” stated Gunther Bright, Executive Vice President, Global Commercial Services at American Express.

Next Pathway deploys offering on Azure Marketplace

Next Pathway, an automated cloud migration provider, announced that its SHIFT Cloud offering is now available on Azure Marketplace. The offering provides customers with code translation capabilities to migrate legacy SQL and ETL into Azure. In 2022, Next Pathway announced a partnership with Microsoft to support the migration of legacy data warehouses and data lakes to Azure.
