Paige, a New York based health technology company, announced that it is working with Microsoft to apply AI to cancer pathology. Simultaneously, Microsoft is making a strategic investment in the company.

Paige is using Azure to run its Paige Platform, to support capabilities like FullFocus whole-slide image viewer. As part of the agreement, Paige is set to become a Cloud for Healthcare partner, working with Nuance Precision Imaging Network and Microsoft Research.

“We believe that Microsoft’s world-class AI resources, cloud infrastructure, global reach and scale, combined with our deep expertise in developing AI cancer diagnostics, will drive a new era of diagnostics and precision treatment to improve the lives of patients,” said Andy Moye, Ph.D., Chief Executive Officer at Paige, in a statement.
