Azure pros discuss how Arc delivers SQL databases, registering Azure B2C tenant in API Management manually, and using Terraform and Az API to deploy a Container App and pull images.

How Arc delivers SQL databases

Matthew Quickenden, writing on Crying Cloud, took a look at a new feature for the SQL extension for Arc-connected servers. Users are now able to create Azure resources representing SQL databases through Arc-connected servers. The new resource detects SQL instances as objects, making the databases objects in Azure.

Currently, this only works for Hybrid Compute and not VMware connected Arc-systems. He cautioned that some properties are listed as unknown—a bug because of the newness of the resource.

“This is the next step to bringing SQL databases into the Azure control plane, creating alerts on recovery models, encryption state, or perhaps statistic creation.  Enabling more visibility and control into the Hybrid Cloud journey. This is the first public preview of this feature and I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for future revisions and enhancements,” Quickenden wrote.
