Offering hundreds of product enhancements, the latest version of Dynamics CRM has potential upgraders scratching their heads about which features are most important for their users. According to Sonoma Partners, the majority of Microsoft Dynamics CRM customers want information about the latest version's most important features, what each feature does, what investment of resources are necessary for implementation and use, and what's in it for them.

In a fact sheet released by the firm, it highlighted twelve new features and enhanced functions in Dynamics CRM 4.0 that it believes will impact a user's daily tasks. "The enhancements show major growth as a product," says Michelle Alexander, marketing and PR manager at Sonoma Partners.

"Anyone will find these enhancements incredibly time-saving," she adds.

Here are Sonoma Partners' top picks of the features, and why it believes will these will especially benefit users:

  1. Real-time duplicate checking based on your rules. This feature means you can save money by avoiding having marketing duplicate contacts.
  2. Multiple enhancements to Outlook Client that will improve data quality, increase productivity and improve integration between Outlook and CRM. In other words, fewer clicks, more productivity.
  3. Access CRM via the Internet. Users now have full access to their system using a standard Web browser. This empowers end users to make better decisions more quickly, says Sonoma Partners.
  4. Perform mail merges from the Web client or Outlook to streamline message execution and up productivity.
