Preview and download selected documents as PDFs in Business Central using AL

On the CloudFronts blog, Shubham Prajapati wrote that Business Central users often need to create and check purchase order documents. In the past, this usually meant downloading the PDF file and opening it in another program. He pointed out that while this worked, it wasn't very efficient, especially when handling many purchase orders at once.

Prajapati noted that with the new updates to the AL language and the web client, you can now preview PDF documents directly in the browser. He added that this saves extra steps and makes the process faster. D365BC still lets you download files if you want to keep a local copy.

In his blog post, Prajapati presented a customization to the purchase order list page that lets users select multiple purchase orders and then preview or download their PDF documents using AL code.
