Microsoft Dynamics GP payroll earning codes; set up and what to use them for
On the Dynamics GP Support and Services Blog, Terry Heley wrote that users often ask how to set up payroll earnings codes, what you can use them for, and examples of some ways to use them.
In her blog post, Heley responded to those questions. First, she stated that in Microsoft Dynamics GP, earnings codes are used to define an employee’s net disposable income.
Heley pointed out some uses for earnings codes, including for garnishments and to set up a deduction for paid family leave insurance. She stated that users sometimes run into a particular issue setting up earnings codes on the company level.
If you add a percent amount it does not save and flow down to the employee level. This functionality is working by design. Typically, earnings codes are used for garnishments which are employee specific.
Heley offered a workaround for this issue. She then provided detailed information about how to set up paid family leave per state regulations.
Boost your Dynamics GP productivity with built-in automated workflows
On the ERP Software Blog, an author from GP Support North wrote that the Dynamics GP workflow functionality enables companies to automate and expedite business process approvals across purchasing, sales, projects, financials, and security.
