Microsoft premiered Data Manager for Energy as a managed OSDU Data Platform for the energy industry. The service comes out of a partnership between Microsoft and SLB to make energy industry data tagged and searchable for better sustainability insight. Microsoft include interoperability features so that Data Manager for Energy can interconnect with other energy technologies like Defli and Petrel.

“We all benefit from making the world more open. As an industry, our shared goal is that openness in data will enable a fully liberated and connected data landscape. This is the natural next step towards data-driven workflows that integrate technologies seamlessly and leverage AI for diverse and creative solutions that take business performance to the next level,” stated Trygve Randen, Director, Data & Subsurface at Digital & Integration, SLB.

Between March 20 and 23, Microsoft took part in the NVIDIA GTC online conference. Azure AI is designed for AI supercomputing workloads and the company invited attendees to learn more about its existing GPU-accelerated VM offerings. Microsoft touted a presentation by high-performance computing specialist and General Manager Nidhi Chappell.

“Azure’s purpose-built AI infrastructure is enabling leading organizations in AI to build a new era of innovative applications and services. The convergence of cloud flexibility and economics, with advances in cloud performance, is paving the way to accelerate AI initiatives across simulations, science, and industry. Whether you need to scale to 80,000 cores for MPI workloads, or you're looking for AI supercomputing capabilities, Azure can support your needs,” wrote Locky Ainley Product Marketing Manager, Azure VMware Solution.
