Microsoft Q2 2021 results: Azure cloud revenue outperforms
Microsoft announced its 2021 Q2 earnings of $43.1 billion, up 17%. Net income rose 33% to $15.5 billion and earnings per share were up 34%.
Azure revenue growth came in at 50%, beating analyst consensus numbers soundly. Last quarter Azure revenue grew 48% while cloud services and server products increased 22% overall.
“Accelerating demand for our differentiated offerings drove commercial cloud revenue to $16.7 billion, up 34% year over year,” said Amy Hood, executive vice president and chief financial officer of Microsoft. “We continue to benefit from our investments in strategic, high-growth areas.”
Dynamics products and cloud services revenue continued to see steady growth with a reported 21% increase, driven by Dynamics 365 revenue growth of 39%. In Q1 2021, Dynamics products and cloud services revenue were up 19%, driven by Dynamics 365 revenue growth of 38%.
