CIA awards a major cloud services contract to five providers

The US Central Intelligence Agency has awarded its Commercial Cloud Enterprise contract, also known as C2E, to five of the largest cloud providers including Microsoft, Amazon, Google, Oracle and IBM.

The companies will compete for different cloud-related tasks on behalf of the CIA and the 16 other US intelligence agencies, worth potentially billions of dollars. The CIA first entered the cloud world in 2013, contracting with AWS on an agreement runs through 2023. So far, the CIA has not released documentation of the contract publicly.
