Microsoft plans new Business Applications Summit in July

Microsoft has announced plans for a new annual conference focused on Dynamics 365, PowerApps, Power BI, and related applications, aimed at users, customers and partners. The first Microsoft Business Applications Summit will kick off on July 22, 2018 in Seattle, according to Microsoft CVP James Phillips, writing in a new blog post.

The decisions to launch Business Applications Summit is a response to community demand, according to Phillips. "We've heard loud and clear your desire to come together on an annual basis - to share, to learn, and to be the first to know where we're going and what's coming next across this expansive collection of products and services," he writes.

And Phillips clarifies that this event will take a broad view of the types of solutions Microsoft can offer businesses. It is also a "more expansive and evolved continuation" of the Data Insights Summit series.

After several years without a dedicated Microsoft event for business solutions, Dynamics partners and users are sure to have questions about what this event is really going to look like. Despite the broad range of events in the Dynamics ecosystem's conference landscape today, none of them really give Microsoft a chance to own and shape the complete vision, from the partner and exhibitor opportunity through the customer and prospect experience. 

Phillips explains that the new event is designed to deliver content that is both deep and broad. In his words:
