New resources available to schedule, plan Dynamics 365 CRM v 9.0 updates
Microsoft's Dynamics 365 team has provided the new information to help companies plan to successfully update to Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM version 9.0:
- Customers will be able to begin scheduling updates to Dynamics 365 (online), version 9.0 service, on any day, including weekends. However, scheduling an update is based on the available openings as update slots will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Companies can now schedule updates to occur from February 20 through August 20, which will allow up to six months to complete the update.
- Administrators can schedule updates to sandbox instances before production instances, and will be able to see sandbox and production update schedules in a single view in the Dynamics 365 Administration Center.
- Admins can select recipients to receive notifications about updates in the Dynamics 365 Administration Center. Administrators can learn how to add email addresses of people they want to receive information about scheduled updates here. A recipient doesn't have to be an admin to receive notifications, and no additional licenses are required.
To get ready for the update, Microsoft recommends:
- Staying up to date via a What's new page for a complete list of v9 capabilities and services, and a Read Me link for additional details about update requirements, known issues, and possible workarounds.
- Preparing for
