Microsoft updates Dynamics GP 2018 plans, stretches roadmap to 2019
Microsoft has provided updated guidance on what is planned for the next release of Dynamics GP, which it is calling GP 2018 and is planned for a late 2017 release.
The highlights of GP 2018 will include more workflow updates (known as "Workflow 4.0", further document management enhancements, finance and HR optimization, and what the GP team is referring to as "Power Suite".
Microsoft introduced Doc Attach for Dynamics GP with GP 2013 as a new and improved way to store electronic documents associated with transactions. In subsequent releases, Doc Attach was enhanced to support added processes and workflows like AP invoice approval. GP 2018 make Doc Attach more comprehensive with added support for Receivables and GL entry, Employee inquiry, for notes on Vendor and Customer inquiries, and for I-9 (employement eligibility verification) forms.
As for the so-called "Power Suite", GP began to really embrace Power BI in GP 2016 R2 by exposing OData services that coule be consumed for reporting purposes. The team is taking that even further in the next release with a Power BI Content Pack and Flow ...
