Culture Settings on NAV Web Services
On the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Team's blog, Daniel De Castro Santos Silva explains that when they're developing, developers have to take culture differences into consideration. He offered an example: a Germany company that is expanding to the United States has to incorporate such cultural differences as date formats, number formats, and so on. In Germany, dates are noted as: DD/MM/YY. In the US, however, the format is: USA MM/DD/YY. So there will be an issue integrating those two systems, he said.
"So for such cases, in Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013, Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2, and Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2015, you can set up the cultural settings so that Microsoft Dynamics NAV system understands how to "translate" culture-specific data when exchanging data between the two countries."
