Microsoft Dynamics customer base grows, but GP, SL flat from 2014

Microsoft has shared new customer counts for its Dynamics ERP and CRM products today at Convergence 2015. ERPSoftwareBlog shared the combined figures in a new blog post.

Here are the latest figures, as reported by a Microsoft spokesperson:

2015 Breakdown of the Microsoft Dynamics customer numbers worldwide by product:

  • Microsoft Dynamics AX - 20,000 companies
  • Microsoft Dynamics GP - 47,000 companies
  • Microsoft Dynamics NAV - 110,000 companies
  • Microsoft Dynamics SL - 13,500 companies
  • Microsoft Dynamics CRM - 40,000+ companies

Also:

  • Microsoft Dynamics Retail: 46,500
  • Microsoft Dynamics C5: 85,000
  • Microsoft XAL,C4/Apertum: 30,000

Other than trying to quantify "40,000+", here is a chart that shows how those numbers have changed since reported around Convergence 2013:

There has been steady growth for both Dynamics AX and NAV, some growth for Dynamics CRM (presumably), and Dynamics GP and SL have been flat year over year. Compare GP's performance to last year when GP led the pack with a 9.3 percent growth rate, jumping from 43,000 in 2013 to 47,000 in 2014, making it the fastest growing among the products. NAV continued on with another year of 8 percent growth in its customer base.

The lack of a specific CRM number drags down the overall customer count, but if we assume a 2.6 percent customer growth rate (as we did in the chart below), since it was the rate of increase from 2013 to 2014, this puts the CRM customer base at ...
