Microsoft Announces Availablity of Dynamics AX 2012 in Latin America
Microsoft Business Solutions President, Kirill Tatarinov, used this week's CIO Leadership Forum Latin America event to announce that Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 is now available to customers across the Latin American region with the exception of Brazil.
In a Microsoft event that the company has themed "Cloud Power", the Dynamics AX 2012 announcement doesn't exactly go with the flow (although it does integrate with cloud services like Rapid Start, Site, Payment, and Commerce services), but perhaps it doesn't have to at the moment. According to Ricardo Villate, Vice President for market consultancy firm IDC Latin America, Microsoft grew its ERP revenue in Latin America by 30.5%, which is twice the average market growth rate. "The spike in growth is due primarily to a wave of spending tied to the renovation of an old installed base in the region; to a leverage of Microsoft's broad portfolio of products in a market that is ever more demanding for bundled solutions; to Microsoft's geographic expansion through the region with more and stronger partners; and to a growing hunger for critical applications among small and medium-sized businesses," according to Villate.
Microsoft officially launched Dynamics AX 2012 in early September with availability in 25 countries. The first general availability announcement took place on August 1st.
