For Microsoft Dynamics Software Partners, Sometimes-Elusive Certification Still A Key Prize
For Dynamics ISVs, Certifiedfor Microsoft Dynamics (CFMD) is more than a label: it is a gateway to building a bigger and more successful business. By all accounts the certification process is not an easy one, with many solutions requiring years of wrestling with code and getting the customer base into shape before certification is finally achieved.
Two recent efforts to secure CFMD status illustrate the importance. First is that of PrecisionPoint Software, which recently announced its BI and Data Warehousing solution's certification for Microsoft Dynamics AX. And then there is Wellpoint Systems, a Canadian software firm specializing in Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) solutions, earlier this week it released a new version of its AX EAM solution aimed specifically at attaining CFMD status.
PrecisionPoint's certification for Dynamics AX comes after seven years working in mid-market ERP. PrecisionPoint Business Warehouse for Dynamics AX is a data warehouse automation solution based on the full Microsoft Business Intelligence "stack" - Microsoft Office and Microsoft SQL Server, which also readily integrates with Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS), Dynamics Client for Office (DCO) and Dynamics AX Role Centers.
At Wellpoint Systems, the latest release of its EAM solution, branded DAXEAM, has been engineered specifically to receive CFMD status, according to Phil Earle, Director for DAXEAM.
"The new version follows AX development standards to a T. The UI is pure AX, navigation is pure AX and we have eliminated all non-standard components. We have also increased ‘interoperability' with AX - tighter integration with requisitions, workflow and projects, for example," according to Earle.&...
