Convergence 2009 Europe: Microsoft Plans Push of Dynamics CRM Online Beyond North America in 2010
Today at the kickoff of Convergence 2009 Europe, Microsoft announced its intention to expand Dynamics CRM Online past North American into to other regions of the world in the second half of 2010. Details on specific countries have not yet been disclosed.
The most positive news in the Dynamics space, as reported in Microsoft’s first quarter results, is the continued growth of Dynamics CRM, with over a million users. Dynamics CRM revenue grew in “double digits” according to information from last week’s quarterly financial estimates, and a Microsoft official at Convergence 2009 Europe was quoted as putting the figure at 40% growth in sales over the last year.
Dynamics Convergence 2009 Europe also takes a different approach than previous European Convergence events – four one-day, lower cost events in four cities – London, Vienna, Frankfurt, and Rotterdam. The London event began the series on October 27th. In his keynote address, Kirill Tatarinov, corporate vice president of Microsoft Business Solutions (MBS), announced that all Microsoft Dynamics products are certified to run on Windows 7 and Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 as of Oct. 22, 2009, the official launch date for Windows 7.
Further emphasis from Microsoft at the European events will include targeted partner solutions for specific industries and as many customer success stories as possible. Tatarinov’s keynote highlighted new Dynamics customers who had switched from competitive solutions.
